Ridge Expansion

This is a technique used to restore the lost bone dimensions when the jaw ridge gets too thin to place conventional implants.  In this procedure, the bony ridge is literally expanded by mechanical means using specialized instrumentation.  Bone graft material can be placed and allowed to heal for a few months prior to placing the implant.  In certain situations, the ridge can be expanded and an implant can be placed , with or without grafting, in one visit.
